Airmaster Design Apprentice Max Brough Recognised as Highly Commended at Rotherham Advertiser’s Apprentice of the Year Awards 2025

Airmaster is proud to announce that Design Apprentice Max Brough has been awarded the Highly Commended Higher/Degree award at the tenth annual Rotherham Advertiser Apprentice of the Year Awards 2025, held at the AESSEAL New York Stadium on 17 July. Max was recognised among the region’s brightest emerging talents in front of an audience of business and civic leaders from across South Yorkshire.

Max originally joined Airmaster midway through a Level 3 Metal Fabricator apprenticeship and has since transitioned into a design-focused role. He is currently studying at Level 5 at University Centre Rotherham. Over the past two years, he has introduced innovative AI tools into the design process, supported the company’s sustainability goals, and shown exceptional dedication—all of which have earned him recognition within the business and the wider STEM community.

Lisa Pogson, Managing Director at Airmaster, who also had the honour of hosting the awards evening in her role as Chair of the Rotherham Council Business Growth Board, said:

“We are incredibly proud of Max and everything he has achieved. His journey from site engineer to a key part of our design team demonstrates the power of apprenticeships in unlocking talent and passion. Max brings fresh thinking, curiosity and a real heart to everything he does—we couldn’t be more thrilled to see him highly commended at a regional level. Congratulations to all the nominees, and best of luck to Max as he continues to flourish.”

Max Brough added:

“It’s a real honour to be recognised, especially alongside so many talented apprentices. Airmaster has supported me from day one, helping me explore my strengths and take on new challenges. I’ve learned so much already, and this award gives me even more motivation to keep pushing forward. I’m really grateful to the team for backing me every step of the way.”

Lisa’s role as host reinforced Airmaster’s commitment to developing future talent. A long-standing advocate for apprenticeships and inclusive career pathways, she continues to use platforms like these to spotlight the next generation of engineers and designers from Rotherham and the wider South Yorkshire region.
