What our people say - Meet Scott Wolstenholme, Project Engineer, Contracts

Scott Wolstenholme - Project Engineer, Contracts Department

I was as an Apprentice Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineer after school, and then I worked as an Agricultural Refrigeration Engineer, until becoming an Agricultural Manager. I joined Airmaster in 2019 and my job now involves tenders, surveys, scheduling, materials, arranging labour and the ongoing maintenance contracts once the job has been completed.

Airmaster is at the top of its market in terms of the size and scale of jobs we can undertake, for example we recently won a contract with a large hospital to service its chillers; and we have also done major work on some old industrial water chillers which was quite specialist. We are always looking for new opportunities and as soon as tenders come up, we are in there.

My favourite thing about this job is seeing the end result of a large project. It is great being involved from start to finish and having a satisfied customer. The best part of working here is the people because everyone is an expert in their field, they are open and friendly, and always willing to help.

My biggest inspiration is my Dad who instilled in me a strong work ethic by making me get a job when I was 12! He taught me that if you want anything in life, you have to work for it. Outside of work, I like to stay fit and active, and I enjoy doing sport and running. I like football too and I support my daughter who plays every Saturday. One unusual fact people will not know about me is that I once won a VW Golf on a scratch card!

I’m attempting to knock one off my bucket list by running my first 31 mile Ultra marathon on Sat 17th July, this is road and trail route through the Yorkshire Dales.

This will be a massive challenge for me as I’ve never run further than 16 mile before but hopefully be ready come July the 17th!

I’m doing this in memory of a friend and work colleague who we recently lost at Airmaster Air Conditioning, Michael Archbould, in the hope of trying to raise some money for the British Heart Foundation.
