James Dawson joined our contracts team in 2016 as our first graduate design engineer. Apart from an engineering placement with an Airmaster customer for a year at Sheffield Hallam University, this is his first job.

James said “My role involves mechanical and public health design and drawings. Like everyone says, the best thing about working at Airmaster is the family feel- you can chat to everyone about the job and life.

I am inspired by guitarist Rory Gallagher- he’s my musical idol and got me back into guitar. I think he’s the best at what he did and very modest. And travel: I went to China and Hong Kong a few years ago, and I have travelled to Croatia along with a few trips to the USA including on guest tickets to to see the Arctic Monkeys.

After work I love my music- I try and write and record. Most of my friends are musicians, I can see how hard it is to make a living, but it can be a fantastic hobby.

Some of my colleagues might not know I’m a Milton Keynes football fan. Got to be unusual because there’s not many of us!”
